Building a better India with determination to protect Sanatan Dharma

Nandan Jain State Treasurer of Chhattisgath
Ram Mandir Raipur Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath meets Nandan Jain State Treasurer of Chhattisgath

Before the construction of the grand Shri Ram Temple on VIP Road in Raipur, a student hostel and a Vedic school were being operated at the site. Nandan Jain was entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the secretary of both these projects, along with managing a cow shelter (gaushala). Nandan Jain efficiently handled all these responsibilities and worked towards further improving them. It was in this very place that Nandan Jain later conceptualized the plan for the grand Shri Ram Temple.

The grand Shri Ram Temple on VIP Road in Raipur, as we see it today, owes its conception and construction to Nandan Jain, who played a pivotal role from its initial vision to its realization. In 2003, Nandan Jain envisioned building the Ram Temple in Raipur. The idea first took root in his mind when he visited Ayodhya and saw Lord Ram Lalla residing under a tent. Deeply moved by this sight, and troubled by the questions surrounding Lord Ram's existence at the time, Nandan Jain made a resolution to establish a magnificent temple in Chhattisgarh, the maternal home of Lord Ram and his mother, Kaushalya, as a stronghold of Sanatan faith.

With this objective in mind, Nandan Jain, under the guidance of senior pracharaks (campaigners) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), re-established a trust in Raipur in 2003 and laid the foundation for the grand Shri Ram Temple . Despite facing numerous challenges, Nandan Jain’s determination never wavered. During that period, the idea of constructing the temple seemed like a mere fantasy, but his unwavering spirit kept him moving forward. His father, Kundan Lal Jain, had also encouraged him to build the Ram Temple in Raipur, emphasizing that it would require collective effort.

In 2017, Yogi Adityanath, the esteemed Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, participated in the consecration ceremony of the grand Ram Temple in Raipur. During the event, Yogi Adityanath remarked that with the construction of the Ram Temple in Raipur, the maternal home of Lord Ram, the path had been paved for the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya. At that time, Yogi Adityanath was serving as the Member of Parliament for the Gorakhpur constituency, and shortly after the consecration, he became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, initiating the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya as well.

Nandan Jain's vision has always been to create an extraordinary project dedicated to Sanatan Dharma and service, and that vision is now becoming a reality. Today, the grand Shri Ram Temple in Raipur stands as a center of faith and spirituality. The temple is evolving into a self-sustaining institution that serves as a model of devotion and spiritual service. Nandan Jain continues to move forward with a deep commitment to expanding Sanatan Dharma through dedicated service.

Nandan jain thoughts

Architect of the Ram Temple

In bringing the vision of the Ram Temple to life, special attention was required for the architectural design. After studying ancient Indian traditions, Nandan Jain adopted a traditional method for constructing the temple. The architecture, from the sanctum sanctorum to the courtyard and surrounding premises, was designed according to the principles of Vastu. Along with Lord Ram, Sita, and Hanuman, the temple features 16 other deities.

A unique aspect of the installed idol of Lord Ram is that it is crafted from a single piece of Makrana marble. It took nearly one and a half years to find the right stone, and it took four months to carve the statue in Rajasthan. Artisans from Odisha and Rajasthan were brought to Raipur for the temple's construction. Both the interior and exterior walls of the grand and beautiful temple feature intricate carvings. The walls depict many avatars of Lord Vishnu as well as other deities. This is one of the most significant works undertaken by Nandan Jain, a contribution that will nourish the Sanatan tradition for eternity, as the temple includes important projects like a Gaushala (cow shelter), Vedic school, and hostel.

Legal Aspects

Nandan Jain also managed the legal aspects involved in constructing the temple, including handling land maps and various legal matters. This involved ensuring compliance with government-issued construction guidelines, obtaining approvals from relevant departments, and resolving legal disputes through the court. These crucial tasks were efficiently handled by Nandan Jain.

Financial Aspect

The journey from the conception of the Shri Ram Temple to its physical realization was not easy. From land allocation to construction and managing all aspects, the financial structure was complex. The cost of constructing such a magnificent temple ran into crores, and Nandan Jain, with his organizational skills, overcame the financial challenges by gaining the trust and support of local businessmen, politicians, and the general public. Today, under his leadership, the temple operates daily with a community kitchen, gaushala (cow shelter), school, and other religious ceremonies.

Coordination

Shri Ram Temple is not just a temple; it is a place inspired by the Sanatan ideology where people from all walks of life can celebrate their personal and social rituals and festivals. It serves as a venue for community and religious gatherings. Various projects of the RSS and members of its ideological family come together at the temple to make decisions and hold meetings to plan future activities.
